RRsat delivers first DPP file to Channel 5

April 29, 2014

RRsat has confirmed the completion of DPP delivery to Channel 5, on behalf of Princess Productions, following protocol compliant with the DPP standardised requirements.

The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) was formed by the UK’s public service broadcasters and is set to introduce best practice guidelines with the UK broadcast industry to ensure digital video content can be easily and cost effectively distributed to audiences via multiple platforms.

The delivery of the AS-11/DPP compliant files to Channel 5 demonstrates RRsat’s commitment to best practice within the industry, and working with peers to enhance the reputation and service of both its own business and the wider sector. From October 1st this will be a mandatory requirement for any file delivery to all of the participating broadcasters.

Paul Jones, Head of Post Production at Princess Productions said: “The DPP’s standard for UK content delivery is still in its infancy. It presents many new challenges to content providers and it was vital for us to partner with a company we trust to deliver. As we have come to expect RRsat met our requirements with a seamless service”
