S3 Group, a specialist in enhancing the performance and service readiness of video platforms across connected devices, has been selected by Germany’s largest cable MSO Kabel Deutschland, to help it scale and validate video services on various consumer premises equipment (CPE).
Kabel Deutschland will use S3 Group’s video test automation platform, StormTest Development Center, for advanced, end-to-end service validation capabilities in both test and production environments. Specifically, it will be used for live service monitoring, channel line-up validation, A/V and caption quality assurance, and more. The platform will interface with Kabel Deutschland’s headend to validate video service configurations, and integrate with CPE to test services and simulate subscriber viewing experiences prior to deployment. The use of StormTest Development Center will help QA and operations personnel to assess the performance and service readiness of video services across connected devices.
“S3 Group’s end-to-end service validation platform enables us to replace time-consuming manual tests with more accurate, efficient and repeatable test cycles across our device platforms and software configurations,” explained Bernd Hansen, team-leader service management, Kabel Deutschland. “We are confident in StormTest Development Center’s ability to provide the efficiency and reliability required to deliver rapid innovation and improve the quality and stability of new video services and features.”
“Kabel Deutschland is recognised for its innovation in the pay TV market, using cutting-edge technologies across its products and applications,” said Philip Brennan, VP, TV technology, S3 Group. “We’re proud to have been selected to help further increase the company’s operational efficiencies and provide important service validation capabilities.
