nangu.TV completes O2 migration

May 14, 2014

nangu.TV, the media platform provider for IPTV and OTT services, has announced has completed the migration of O2 customers to the nangu.TV Media Platform. nangu.TV began working with O2 last summer when the operator re-launched its O2 TV service in the Czech Republic, providing customers with additional features such as time shift TV, recording, remote functionality and VoD, all driven by nangu.TV’s Media Platform.

David Duron, Marketing Director, O2 says, “One of the big advantages of working with nangu.TV is the ability to implement its new HD GUI and all the advanced nonlinear services that nangu.TV’s platform provides for the ADB3800 set-top boxes.  The platform enabled us to immediately migrate our O2 TV customers without them needing to exchange their set-top boxes, which is a huge advantage. ”

The nangu.TV Media Platform eliminates the need for investment in complex backend infrastructure and enables services to be deployed far more quickly. The platform goes much further than traditional IPTV systems allowing operators like O2 TV to also deliver content over any internet connection to the multiscreen environment and add sophisticated features like advanced search and recommendation engine.  Because of its seamless adaptive streaming functionality, it frequently checks the connection type and speed for both linear and non-linear content and adapts accordingly for quality optimisation.
