May 15, 2014

Concurrent, a specilaist in multi-screen video delivery and media data intelligence solutions, has released a new version of its multi-screen origin server software which features support for Ultra-HD video content and the HEVC video compression standard (H.265). The company’s latest software enables service providers to stream the highest quality video content to a growing population of consumers with 4K and 8K televisions. With support for HEVC, Concurrent’s solution delivers dramatically better picture quality and up to sixteen times higher video resolution than Full HD (1080p) video content.

“With our newly introduced support for Ultra HD content and HEVC, we are raising the bar on video quality for multi-screen streaming services,” said Bob Chism, Chief Technology Officer at Concurrent. “With a simple software upgrade, Concurrent delivers a seamless evolutionary path for service providers who want to attract new premium subscribers by offering services targeted at 4K and 8K televisions. Our software-based approach improves our customer’s time to market, protects their existing infrastructure investment, and ensures they can respond quickly to address the growing market need.”
