Canadian quad-play operator Videotron has unveiled a completely revamped and transformed version of its illico app for the iPad which it claims will change how users access television programming. The operator says the timing of its release on Videotron’s 50th anniversary is particularly apt: 50 years of innovation that have made Videotron the Québec leader in entertainment and technology.

“As everyone knows, innovation is in Videotron’s DNA,” said Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron. “Putting our customers in the driver’s seat, anticipating their needs, adapting to their lifestyle and pace – that is our daily challenge. We put ourselves in the user’s shoes in order to develop this revolutionary iPad app that provides a brand new way of accessing on-screen entertainment content,” she added.

The illico iPad app features a customisable, intuitive interface that organises titles by theme categories, enabling users to find quickly and easily their favourite content in the illico catalogue. The iPad’s user-friendliness meets big-screen quality

Users can cast any content – a video-on-demand title, a live television broadcast or a taped show – directly from their iPad to their television screen with a single click.

illico for the iPad app also lets users view Cinoche.com and IMDb ratings or consult other online sources such as Wikipedia before choosing a film.
The new version of the illico iPad app will be available at the Apple App Store in all parts of Québec.
