Viewster launches Online Film Festival public voting

Viewster have announced the opening of public voting for the second edition of their Viewster Online Film Festival (#VOFF), a first-of-its kind online event attracting millions of video fans for two weeks of creative film exploration.

Starting today, June 12th, through June 26th film lovers everywhere can join the community and vote on their favourite festival selections created by television and film producers, visionaries and enthusiasts from around the world. More than 500 candidates were accepted to this year’s festival to showcase short films, features, web series and teasers with the hope of becoming the next big thing and taking home their share of the coveted prize.

This year’s #VOFF features creative works that encompass the theme: “Relationships: It’s Complicated.” Festival participants submitted projects in all formats including short films, series, pilots and project-teasers, making up a total of 10,570 minutes of film. With participants representing 68 countries including France, The United States, Germany, The United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Brazil, The Ukraine, Costa Rica, Lebanon and Kenya, #VOFF’s second edition has already exceeded growth of the first festival edition with roughly 90 percent of entries produced between 2013 and 2014.

Video fans can join the Viewster community to watch, discuss, share and vote for their favorite entries now through June 26th, and help identify the finalists for the jury session straight from Viewster’s platform accessible on the web or from any iOS or Android smartphone or tablet device, as well as through Chromecast. A jury of experts including Ted Hope, Nora Tschirner and Timo Vuorensola, will select the winners to be announced July 7, 2014 on viewster.com.
