TalkTalk rolls out new TV player

June 13, 2014

TalkTalk has launched a new TV player to bring better functionality to its one million plus YouView TV customers.

The new TalkTalk Player will be the home of on-demand movies and entertainment. It will house TalkTalk’s movie rental service, TalkTalk Box Office, which has been improved to include more of the latest blockbusters to rent (from £4 per title), with many released on the same day as DVD.

TalkTalk has also made it easier for customers to discover all the channels and movies included in their package, with a new ‘Included Channels’ feature. Viewers can browse the entire library of over 500 movies and hundreds of hours of on demand programmes.

All live channels included within the additional flexible monthly Boosts, and the seven additional Sky channels which were recently bundled into in TalkTalk’s Plus TV package, can now be found in the YouView guide from channel 401 onwards, making it easier to find favourite programmes.

Tristia Harrison, Managing Director for Consumer at TalkTalk commented: “YouView from TalkTalk is fast becoming a destination for family entertainment and our all-new TalkTalk Player offers more of the best TV and movies at a cost viewers can control. We’ve made our on-demand movies, kids and Sky entertainment library bigger than ever and the TalkTalk Player is faster, and smarter, making it easier to find shows and films you want to watch.”

Roll out has already begun, with the service becoming available to all one million plus TalkTalk TV homes by June 17th.
