Netflix, which is set to launch next September in France, is to bow to the French media chronology and will show movies at least 36 months after first theatrical release.
According to reports, the House of Cards series will also remain an exclusivity to Canal+ in France, which has already broadcast season 2.
The service should, as in other countries where Netflix has launched, offer 80% of US products vs 20% of local content, and the amount of programmes available are set to double within one year.
Priced under €10, with various fees for devices, Netflix says its first French original series which will be shot in Marseille in March next year.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netflix won’t pay taxes in France.
