Viewster initiates TV advertising

July 29, 2014

For the first time in the company’s history, Viewster is launching a TV advertising campaign. Germany will be the first market to air two different TV commercials, highlighting Viewster’s newly developed mobile apps for iOS and Android. The TV ads will be broadcast on ProSieben and Sat.1 in August 2014. German Media Plan GmbH is managing placement and monitoring success of the campaign, while Vertigo Media was responsible for creating of the two commercials.

Viewster’s CEO, Kai Henniges, emphasised the importance of the company’s mobile solutions: “Our mobile website and downloadable native apps are requested organically several thousand times every single day. More importantly: Our mobile users spend significantly more time on Viewster—and they always return. That’s why we continue to invest in growing this part of our business.”

For Viewster—the online video service—advertising on TV makes sense, as Henniges explains: “It’s obvious that younger target groups increasingly use the web in addition to linear TV. However there is a demographic, which spends a considerable amount of time in front of the TV, that we didn’t introduce our service to yet. With our new campaign we will meet them directly in front of the television.”
