Sundance Channel expands across LatAm

August 11, 2014

AMC Networks International has announced significant expansion of Sundance Channel Global across Central America with first-ever launches in six new territories. The company has reached agreements with numerous subscription television platforms to launch Sundance Channel across the region. First-ever Sundance Channel launches will take place in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Paraguay. Additional distribution agreements have been reached in Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Peru with the largest pay-TV operators. The news follows Sundance Channel’s successful debut in South America in 2013. The network is also available in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Ed Palluth, Executive Vice President of Global Distribution, AMC Networks International commented: “Sundance Channel continues to experience strong growth since last year’s South American launch and will now be widely available in Central America on the leading subscription television platforms in the region. We’re looking forward to offering our distinctive mix of first run original drama and independent films that audiences cannot see elsewhere. Further expansion across all of Latin America is a major priority for us in the months ahead.”
