IndiaCast warning ads for Disney, Viacom channels

Indian channel distributor IndiaCast has published an ad in many Indian daily newspapers warning customers of IndusInd Media & Communications, which also trades as ‘InDigital’ and claims to be India’s largest cable TV network, that they will shortly be losing some of the most popular channels.

IndiaCast distributes channels such as UTV Entertainment, Eenadu TV and TV18.

IndiaCast says the MSO has not paid cash due to the distributor, is demanding much higher carriage fees and has failed to supply subscriber reports.

IMC/InDigital has some 2 million digital subscribers.

Local reports list the affected channels as including all of Network 18’s channels such as Colors, CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN-IBN, IBN7, CNBC Bajaar, CNBC TV18 Prime HD, History TV19, History TV 18 HD, IBN Lokmat, MTV, MTV Indies, Rishtey, Nick, Vh1, Sonic, Comedy Central, Nick Junior, Colors HD, ETV Gujarati, ETV Marathi, ETV Bangla, ETV Kannada, ETV Oriya, ETV Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand, ETV MP Chattishgarh, ETV Rajasthan, ETV Urdu, ETV News Kannada, ETV Bihar Jharkhand, ETV, ETV Andhra Pradesh, UTV Movies, UTV Stars, UTV World Movies, Disney Channel and Disney XD.
