SMiT deploys Dynamic Sentinel Cardless CAM with Viaccess-Orca

September 3, 2014

SMiT, a global player in design and development of conditional access modules (CAMs), has partnered with Viaccess-Orca (VO), a global expert in the protection and enhancement of content services, to launch a CAM fully integrated with VO’s Dynamic Sentinel Cardless solution. SMiT is the first CAM provider to achieve VO’s certification for its Dynamic Sentinel Cardless solution.

The Dynamic Sentinel Cardless CAM includes Viaccess-Orca’s latest ACS library, and is fully compatible with CI plus 1.3 standards. Fully integrated with advanced security software, embedded mechanisms with SMiT’s newest chipset SM1670, and no smartcard interface, the Dynamic Sentinel Cardless CAM ensures the security of interactive TV communications. In addition, these security measures enhance the operators’ ability to monitor and stop piracy. End-users can now access premium Pay-TV content without the need of both a set-top box, and smartcard. As a result, TV operators can save revenue on smartcard production, and delivery in addition to post-sales service.

“For more than 20 years, Viaccess-Orca CAS has earned the trust of operators and content owners around the world. By partnering with SMiT we are committed to provide a  best-in-class security system,” said Francois Moreau de Saint Martin, CEO at Viaccess-Orca. “Cardless security solutions are gaining significant momentum in the market due to their flexibility and robust security techniques. I believe that this innovative and consumer-oriented product will be a great success in the market.”
