Sky Italia brings UEFA football to TIMvision

September 25, 2014

Gareth-BaleSky Italia and Telecom Italia have signed a new agreement, strengthening their partnership, to broadcast the Sky channels dedicated to the exclusive Uefa Champions League matches and UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers on TIM’s 3G and 4G networks.

After the Winter Olympics in Sochi, the FIFA World Cup and the F1 world championship, TIMvision – Telecom Italia’s on-demand TV – will broadcast a compelling season of European football on smartphones and tablets.

The matches will be available for TIM customers both on mobile broadband and ultra-broadband networks and Wi-Fi from the Telecom Italia fixed network.

This new agreement further enhances the prestigious sports content offered to TIM customers and confirms Sky’s strategy to extend its exclusive content to the widest possible audience through new distribution channels. The strategic partnership signed last November between Telecom Italia and Sky is in this way strengthened and will lead at the beginning of 2015 to the setting up of the first new generation IPTV in Italy to broadcast Sky’s entire television offer through Telecom Italia’s ultra-broadband networks.
