The International Olympic Committee has confirmed that the CBC has won the Canadian rights to air the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the 2020 Games in Tokyo. CBC was already the rights-holder for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

“We are pleased that we will continue to work with the team at CBC/Radio-Canada who have demonstrated their support for the Olympic values over many years,” IOC president Thomas Bach said in a statement. “In addition, the financial support that CBC/Radio-Canada has committed as part of this agreement will be re-distributed by the IOC to support sport in Canada and around the world, as well as supporting future organisers of the Olympic Games.”

CBC will partner with Rogers Media and Bell Media to broadcast the Olympics.
