NeuLion to power Rogers NHL GameCentre Live

NeuLion, an enabler and provider of live and on-demand content to Internet-connected devices, has been selected by Rogers Communications to power Rogers NHL GameCentre Live and maintain the delivery of the service to fans throughout Canada for the 2014/15 season.
The NeuLion Sports Platform, a full service end-to-end suite of video management, distribution and monetisation tools, now enables Rogers to give its subscribers yet another way to connect to ice hockey content.
In addition to the live games, Rogers customers have exclusive access to GamePlus, an experience within Rogers NHL GameCentre Live, that includes innovative camera feeds, multi-angle replays and more.
“Mobile video use is exploding throughout Canada with sports leading the charge as roughly half of Canadian households now have a tablet and over 83 per cent of Canadians own a mobile phone,” said Chris Wagner, EVP at NeuLion. “Using the NeuLion Sports Platform, RogersNHL GameCentre Live provides choice, convenience and control of how, when and where fans access hockey, giving them even more access to all their favorite teams’ games anytime, anywhere.”
Rogers also chose NeuLion to power digital experiences for its professional sports rights for NFL Sunday Ticket on Rogers Anyplace TV.
