Dailymotion standardises on Unified Streaming for all live streaming

December 4, 2014

Dailymotion has selected Unified Streaming, a provider of cross-platform streaming technologies, for its live streaming Platform. Dailymotion provides a wide range of Live content such as Gaming tournaments, 24 hours news or cultural events.

Dailymotion is very well adapted to the trend of online interaction with its community and offers a great variety of content from users, independent creators and premium partners across all digital devices. It provides HD video in a fast, easy-to-use online service.

Due to significant increase in demand for live streaming, Dailymotion decided to design a new live platform more scalable and reliable. For the new live platform, which is mostly developed in-house, Dailymotion required high performance streaming software with small footprint. Rigorous testing of Unified Streaming software showed that it could handle hundreds of simultaneous ingest streams under various conditions, which is one of the reasons Dailymotion chose Unified Streaming software. Dailymotion now has a future proof, multi-functional, performance optimized live platform that can ingest a variety of formats but also offers protection of live streams using DRM.

Both parties are very pleased with the current results and they expect more to come due to their ongoing development.

“Scalability, reliability and robustness are the key when it comes to Live streaming. Unified Streaming software met all these requirements and that’s why we chose Unified Streaming solution to be part of our Live Platform. Unified Streaming team has been very receptive to our needs and suggestion and it’s a pleasure to work with them” says Vincent Colombet, Live Project Manager at Dailymotion.

“We are very proud to work with Dailymotion, it again proves that our technology is capable to provide a scalable, flexible and high performance streaming solution.  We are looking forward to keep contributing to Dailymotion’s live platform in the future,” says Simon Westbroek, VP Global Sales Unified Streaming.
