Gulli HbbTV and Wiztivi rewarded at the 2014 SMA Awards

For the past 3 years, the SMA Awards highlight the best TV Experiences of the year.  On the 3rd Edition, Wiztivi and Gulli were recognized with a prize for Gulli HbbTV application. They were nominated for the best HbbTV development.

Organised by NPA Conseils, the SMA Awards took place yesterday in Paris. This ceremony is dedicated to reward some of the best TV Experiences of the year. Wiztivi and Gulli were competing for the best HbbTV development and earned a special mention from the jury with Gulli HbbTV.

The design of the application offers an immersive user experience through a leanback interface: the live keeps running while navigating in the Replay catalogue. Under the leadership of Guillaume Mur, Wiztivi Creative Studio’s Director, the application was designed to be intuitive as much as ergonomics for users.

Convincing results

In terms of results, Lagardere Active TV Channels Deputy Director, Gérald-Brice Viret is adding:

« More than 420. 000 videos already have been seen in replay on this application. It’s only the beginning but Gulli’s brand image (16.7 million videos watched in replay last month) added to an important growth of family’s equipment rate and to the quality of Wiztivi’s development,  tend to have us optimistic with regard to the potential of our service.”

By offering non-linear contents on the most shared screen at home, Gulli is reinforcing its strong presence on connected devices and adapting to a booming way of consumption.
