Virgin Media adding 10 international channels

Virgin Media is adding ten more international channels to its TV service.

HUM Europe is one of the latest to join the line-up, bringing a range of Pakistani dramas, soaps and entertainment programming to customers’ screens.

Premium channel Nollywood Movies, the first 24 hour movie channel dedicated to showing movies from the Nigerian film industry is also now available.

Virgin Media has also launched Worldbox, a new app offering live streams of four international channels, including Ukrainian entertainment channel 1+1 International, Tunisian entertainment channel Nessma and Spanish news channel Canal 24 Horas1. A further four channels will be added to the app in early 20152.

Worldbox is the first HTML5-based app on Virgin Media TiVo and has been specially developed to stream a range of live channels from around the world. Virgin Media TiVo customers with M+ TV and above can access the app by selecting channel 834 in the TV guide or through the Apps & Games section. Globecast, a global provider of tailored content management and distribution solutions is supplying seven of the channels for Worldbox.

With content spanning everything from international news, sitcoms and dramas to soaps, movies and comedies there are plenty of shows to keep the whole family entertained.”
