February 2, 2015

ProSiebenSat.1 has extended its existing content licensing agreement with leading Hollywood studio, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.

The long term agreement secures ProSiebenSat.1 exclusive free TV rights to numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Avatar and its forthcoming sequels as well as US series including the Backstrom and new hit drama Empire, in European German-speaking countries. For the first time animated films by DreamWorks are included in the contract, such as How To Train Your Dragon 2. The rights package also covers exclusive basic pay TV licences.

Rüdiger Böss, Executive Vice President Group Programming Acquisitions, ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, says: “Each production year, Twentieth Century Fox provides an exceptional mix of lavishly produced blockbusters and bold film adaptations of new material, ranging from ‘X-Men‘ to ‘The Fault in Our Stars‘. We are therefore very pleased to continue our partnership. Our viewers know they will get the best that Hollywood has to offer on ProSiebenSat.1 stations – and it will stay that way in future.”
