VeEX receives patent for Modular Electronic Testing Apparatus and Methods

February 26, 2015

VeEX, a global leader in Telecom, CaTV, Fibre and Broadband Access, has been awarded a patent for modular electronic testing apparatus and methods, patent # 8,902,607.

The patent covers the use of a faceless testing device (without a screen) with the option of being modular and being controlled by a smart device (tablet, smartphone and similar). The patent includes wireless (WiFi, Bluetooth) or wired (USB, Ethernet or similar) communication methods.

“VeEX is very pleased with this award as it demonstrates our continuous innovation and out-of-the-box thinking,” said Cyrille Morelle, President and CEO of VeEX. “Within our customer base, we see trends where technicians are often equipped with smart devices. This patent allows service providers to reduce the cost of the test device by avoiding duplication of the screen. In addition, the user experience is enhanced by using computing resources on the smart device itself and seamless integration with back office applications as these tools are already in place with service providers,” said Morelle.

One of several patents obtained by VeEX, the modular electronic testing apparatus and methods patent enriches the critical IP portfolio owned by VeEX. VeEX acquired all of Sunrise Telecom’s patents when it purchased the company in 2013. These patents are all active.

VeEX also has several additional patents pending in Cloud computing, Software Defined Networks testing and Fiber Optics (fiber inspection technology).
