Amino certified for YouTube on TV
April 20, 2015
Amino’s latest range of IPTV/OTT devices now support YouTube on TV – allowing consumers to view videos from the online video portal full screen on their televisions.
The A150/A550 and Live Advanced Media Platform device series both completed certification approval recently and will now include the YouTube on TV HTML5 application.
An Amino API allows easy integration with a wide range of middleware solutions, enabling operators to easily add YouTube on TV capability to their existing TV pay-TV offering. Where supported by the middleware, viewers can use DIAL (Discovery and Launch) capability to “cast” their chosen content from a smartphone or tablet on to the main TV.
Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “This is a major value added enhancement to our portfolio and underlines the power and capability our devices now have to handle exciting and innovative new HTML5 features like YouTube on TV. It’s also very closely aligned with operator demand for premium content capability from their devices and we believe this will be warmly welcomed by our customers.”
The new feature will be available in the latest software release for Amino customers from this month.
