Telefonica is launching its Home Gateway that includes router ONT unit and videobridge to have converged access for all the company’s services. With a 20x20cm size, the device has six internal antennas for WiFi (5GHz and 2.4GHz), four fixed blue LEDs, one FXS port for VoIP, four Ethernet ports and the latest Broadcom GPON chip. The new equipment is compatible with existing networks of 300 Mbits connections and will enable up to 1Gbps symmetrical.

The device has been designed by Momedi and built from the Device Development Center Telefonica with other companies like Askey, Mitrastar and Quantenna Communications.

Meanwhile, the company has launched the first TV package to be distributed through other pay-TV platforms with four premium TV channels dedicated to cinema, TV series, Formula One and Moto GP. This was one of the conditions on the company imposed by the competition authority to give its green light to the acquisition of Canal Plus.
