Chinese pay-TV operator StarTimes, already with considerable pay-TV distribution operations in Africa, is looking at Cabovisão and Oni, currently owned by Altice (and widely expected to be bought by Vodafone).

China’s Macau Times is saying that StarTimes is conduction an urgent review and due diligence examination of the key assets in order to submit a speedy bid. The sale of Cabovisão, for example, had been expected to wrap this month.

StarTimes currently has a presence in 23 African nations, and operates pay-TV services in 12 of them with a combined 12 million subscribers.
