Zappware attracts Van Tornhout from Telenet

September 10, 2015

Zappware, a provider of digital TV products for pay-TV operators, has appointed Laurent Van Tornhout as Vice President Product & Marketing.

Laurent Van Tornhout will bring his experience from former product, sales, business development and marketing positions held at Telenet (part of Liberty Global), Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens Networks, Proximus and Philips, to re-enforce the Zappware team.

“Telecom operators should be able to run a video service towards their end-users with the simplicity and agility of a webmaster running a website: easy and fast introduction of relevant features and content catalogues. Zappware has a proven track record and the right building blocks for end-to-end Digital TV solutions. Let’s now further develop the opportunities.”, says Laurent Van Tornhout.

“Now, operators are looking for more agile and cost-efficient solutions. With an end-to-end capability to deliver upon that promise, Zappware is now happy to have Laurent Van Tornhout on board to lead the portfolio and go to market aspects moving forward. A great end-user experience is one thing, but increasing ARPU with the right video value proposition is equally important for service providers”, Koen Swings – CTO of Zappware elaborates.

Patrick Vos – CEO of Zappware: “We are facing interesting times now. With Zappware, we have been deploying Digital TV solutions since 2001. We now want to take the company to the next level. To support our growth targets, in line with our international ambitions, we needed an experienced product & marketing executive to lead the roadmap as well as the product and company positioning.”
