The English Premier League has confirmed that Letv has been awarded its exclusive broadcasting rights in Hong Kong for Seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19.
Letv currently broadcasts Barclays Premier League matches via online and mobile platforms in mainland China as a sub-licensee of Super Sports Media Group, the Premier League’s broadcast partner for mainland China and Macau.
“We’ve enjoyed a great partnership with the English Premier League in the past few years as a digital broadcaster in mainland China,” said Chief Executive of Letv Sports, Lei Zhenjian. “And we’re very excited now to extend this cooperation to Hong Kong. Together, we’ll bring a fantastic English Premier League offering to local fans.”
Premier League Executive Chairman, Richard Scudamore, said: “We are very pleased that Letv has chosen to invest in our broadcasting rights in Hong Kong for seasons 2016/17 to 2018/19.
