Kid’s media executive Lisa Hryniewicz and Deer Little Forest creator Jo Rose are delighted to announce the creation of a new joint venture, Koko Rose Media, Ltd. Koko Rose Media is a UK-based limited company whose main remit is the management of worldwide rights to Deer Little Forest.
Jo Rose is a Henries Award nominated illustrator and creator of Deer Little Forest, a growing preschool and lifestyle brand which originated as a successful line of greeting cards sold at Harrods, John Lewis, Paperchase, Liberty’s and Selfridges.
Lisa started representing the brand as an agent after first noticing the property at BLE 2013. Since then Deer Little Forest rapidly expanded into platforms such as publishing and television, and appointed licensing agents in 13 markets including USA, Germany and China.
The decision to incorporate and expand the corporate structure was made in order to accommodate the rapid growth and obvious potential of the property – both across various types of media and industry, as well as geographically. Lisa and Jo are co-directors of the 50/50 venture, jointly managing the company on a day-to-day basis. As Creative Director, Jo is responsible for all aspects related to Art Direction (creation, production and quality control of product development), and as Managing Director, Lisa oversees sales and business development.
“Since working with Jo two things have become very apparent,” Lisa Hryniewicz states, “First, that Deer Little Forest is a genuinely unique property that elicits a very strong, positive response, resulting in wonderful business opportunities. And secondly, that it is all due to Jo’s immense talent! I am absolutely thrilled to be formalizing this rewarding and promising partnership.”
“Since meeting at BLE 2013 I knew I wanted to work with Lisa!” Jo adds. “The last two years have been such a success that a partnership feels like a natural progression. Lisa has opened opportunities at every turn, and with her business knowledge and incredible eye for detail, I feel like there are no limits for Deer Little Forest.Koko Rose Media will be attending Mipcom Jr. and BLE, Stand J55

About Jo Rose
Jo studied Costume Design and Theatrical Make-up at the London College of Fashion, with a view to working in creature and puppet workshops. However her love of illustration drew her to set up her own small publishing company instead and she soon started selling her illustrations around the world and to major retailers including Liberty, Selfridges, Harrods and John Lewis. After moving to the New Forest in 2009, Jo fell in love with the enchanting woodlands where the first flicker of an idea emerged. Her love of folklore, faeries and Scandinavian design collided with the creative energy of the trees… and the DEER LITTLE FOREST was born. Jo’s unique and instantly recognizable designs, crafted by hand, using a clever combination of paper cutting, illustration and photography, earned her a nomination for the prestigious Henries ‘Most promising Artist/ Designer’ category in 2013.
