Hulu, Viacom expand content partnership

October 7, 2015

Hulu and Viacom have announced a renewal and expansion of their content partnership that grants Hulu the exclusive SVoD rights to selected top-rated series from Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV.

The deal continues their existing relationship under which full episodes of late night shows including The Daily Show with Trevor Noah are available to stream on Hulu the day after airing on linear broadcast, and current seasons of selected shows from Viacom’s media networks remain available to stream on delay after airing on linear broadcast. All Viacom series will be available to stream on Hulu with a subscription for $7.99 per month with limited commercials and $11.99 per month with no commercials.

The multi-year agreement now makes Hulu the exclusive SVoD home to past seasons and future seasons of certain popular titles from Comedy Central including Inside Amy Schumer, Broad City, Drunk History and Key & Peele, as well as MTV hits Faking It and Finding Carter. Additional seasons of Workaholics, Awkward and Catfish: The TV Show are also now available to stream on Hulu.

The deal also expands Hulu’s offering of exclusive kids programming from Nickelodeon. Full past seasons of Nickelodeon programming that have never been available on Hulu and are now exclusive to the service include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rabbids Invasion, Sanjay and Craig, Breadwinners, Bella and the Bulldogs, and The Thundermans. In addition, all episodes of nostalgic kids series Doug and Rugrats, as well as T.U.F.F. Puppy, and Planet Sheen, will become available to stream for the first time ever on Hulu. These join Nickelodeon library series including Ren & Stimpy, The Wild Thornberrys, Drake & Josh, Hey Arnold, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Danny Phantom and others, which will remain on Hulu.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our successful relationship with Hulu as they continue to build an even bigger and better service for subscribers and our passionate viewers,” said Philippe Dauman, Viacom President and CEO. “Hulu has been a great partner for Viacom for many years. They have a commitment to their customers and brand partners and value how Viacom’s popular range of youthful brands and programs create a better experience for Hulu users. We also value the promotional and marketing support they provide for our brands and shows.”
