Magine TV partners with Thailand’s CTH

October 8, 2015

Swedish OTT platform Magine TV has entered into partnership with Thailand-based cable network CTH, marking the company’s first entry into the Asian mobile TV market.

Magine TV will power CTH’s OTT offering on its cloud service, allowing for the distribution of CTH’s entertainment and sports channel packages across all mobile devices and screens. Magine TV’s technology will provide more viewers with greater access to premium content such as the Barclays Premier League across Thailand, via live streaming as well as through catch-up functionality.

Ambuj Goyal, CEO of Magine TV, comments: “Magine TV is delighted to enter into a significant partnership with such an established broadcaster as CTH; this is a major step for Magine, and marks our first move into the Asian market. Live sports events such as Premier League football matches are integral to CTH’s offering, and create a huge demand on OTT platforms in terms of the number of users streaming concurrently. Picture quality and low latency are features that Magine TV has developed to cope with such demand, and we are confident that in these areas we can offer CTH and other broadcasters an unparalleled service, as demonstrated through Magine TV’s service in Germany throughout FIFA World Cup in 2014”
