UKTV Play launches on Amazon Fire TV

October 20, 2015

UKTV has confirmed the launch of its on-demand service UKTV Play on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. The UKTV Play app on Amazon Fire TV devices includes a new feature which enables users to create their own bespoke collections via ‘My List’. This new function will be rolled out onto other UKTV Play devices in the coming months.

UKTV Play provides catch up and on demand access to programmes from UKTV’s popular free-to-air channels Dave, Yesterday, Really and Drama. Content on the service is compiled into intuitive collections featuring programmes from across the network and viewers’ favourite stars recommend their choice of shows via dynamic staff and celebrity picks.

UKTV’s CEO Darren Childs said, “As UKTV Play passes its first birthday, this launch marks another exciting step in the growth of the service. UKTV continues to invest in its on demand services and in making brilliant, original programming, meaning our viewers can watch their favourite UKTV shows such as Dave Gorman Modern Life is Goodish and Taskmaster anytime, anywhere. UKTV is attracting more viewers than ever before and now Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick users can also enjoy the extensive range of programming UKTV Play has to offer.”

“UKTV Play is another great addition to the Amazon Fire TV platform,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore. “With Fire TV, we’re building a world-class open ecosystem that delivers access to the best catch up and on demand TV services, and UKTV Play will enable our customers to enjoy even more high quality and original British programming than ever before.”

UKTV Play is available as a free app in the Apps section of Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick.
