Netgem boosts international content line-up with France 24

October 26, 2015

End-to-end video entertainment provider and #TelcoTV specialist Netgem has added international news service France 24 to its channel line-up. Three different 24-hour news channels delivered through the service are immediately available to customers of Netgem-enabled EE TV in the UK and Videofutur in France, and will be on live and on-demand in Australia by the end of the year. In addition to the three live feeds, in English, French and Arabic, viewers can access a rich on-demand catalogue of current affairs and reports programmes, as well as the latest news, business, sports and weather bulletins.

This deal is the latest in a series of international partnerships signed with major content providers, including most recently the addition of SPI’s FilmBox Live, a multi-screen entertainment service which gives subscribers access to live TV channels as well as an on-demand library of sports and fashion programming, documentary films, music videos and arthouse movies. With the addition of France 24, the Netgem platform can now provision hundreds of channels and on-demand video services.

Through the addition of France 24, Netgem’s Telco customers will be able to access the full 24-hour news services from France 24 though a dedicated OTT app. This will be delivered through Netgem’s #TelcoTV platform which integrates broadcast TV with IPTV and HTML 5-based OTT content to enable telecoms providers to deliver a complete experience to their customers on TV and mobile devices.

Sylvain Thevenot, managing director of Netgem TV PVX, said that by establishing partnerships with world-class content owners such as France 24, the company was building a platform that enabled telecoms providers to launch TV services with ease without having to worry about their own content partnerships, thereby drastically reducing their time to launch. “This international distribution agreement with France 24 represents a key addition to the line-up in the news category that Netgem is able to provision, and allows us to incorporate the new service for our existing #TelcoTV customers and all forthcoming international deployments.”

A major international 24-hour news station, France 24 is available in three languages – English, French and Arabic – with top business, analysis and current affairs programming in all three languages. The service broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week to 300 million TV households in 180 countries around the world.
