Telenor’s satellite broadcasting division saw improved Q3 numbers, and improved revenues for its first 9 months of the year, according to data from the company. Telenor operates a fleet of satellites from the 1 degree West orbital position.

TSBc enjoyed an increase of NOK 21 million (€2.2m) taking quarterly revenues to NOK 259 million (NOK 238 million in same period 2014). Nine-month revenues were NOK 756 million (NOK 715 million last year).

Q3 EBITDA also grew from NOK 167 million last year to NOK 182 million in 2015, although operating profit fell back somewhat from NOK 110 million last year to NOK 100 million in 2015. Operating profit of NOK 100 million is much the same as in Q2 (100 million) and Q1 (103 million).

Telenor Satellite launched its latest craft, Thor 7 back on April 27th, adding 11 Ku-band transponders and a highly sophisticated spot-beam payload in Ka-band. It came into service in mid-June and was expected to come into full service during the current Q4.
