Israel’s Spacecom satellite operator has declared its ailing Amos-5 craft a complete loss. The company admits that it has failed to re-establish contact with the satellite which suffered on-board electrical problems back on November 21st.
Spacecom has told clients in East Africa, especially clients in Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana and the Congo, that it continues to source alternate bandwidth for them.
Spacecom is saying that the satellite cannot be retrieved and will be subject to an insurance claim.
