Jennifer Choi, a former HBO staffer, has admitted the theft of almost $1 million by issuing fraudulent invoices. An Assistant US Attorney says other charges might follow and that other people might be suspected of illegal actions.

Choi worked for HBO for some 10 years in the broadcaster’s talent relations department. She was fired by HBO in September 2014. She pleaded guilty on January 27th to two counts of fraud and one of tax evasion. She is alleged to owe at least $283,706 in back taxes to the IRS. She will be sentenced later.

Choi’s fraud was reported to have started in late 2007 when she sent bogus invoices to HBO.
