Kabel Deutschland tops Netflix Speed Index in Germany

Netflix has released its monthly update on which ISPs provide the best prime-time Netflix streaming experience.

In the US, Bright House fell five spots in the rankings to 9th place with an average speed of 3.53 Megabits per second (Mbps) and Time Warner Cable fell two to 10th with an average speed of 3.39 Mbps. Meanwhile, Suddenlink and AT&T U-Verse both climbed two spots, to seventh and eighth in the rankings. Suddenlink posted a monthly average of 3.62 mbps, up from 3.52 Mbps, and AT&T’s rose to 3.59 Mbps from 3.48 Mbps last month.

In Germany, Unitymedia Kabel, which had ranked at the top since Netflix launched the service in that country, dropped to No. 8 in January. Its average speed declined to 3.18 Mbps, down from 3.79 Mbps in December and a high of 4.17 Mbps last August. Kabel Deutschland is the new leader in the country with speeds of 4.03 Mbps.

In Ecuador, ETAPA rose two from last place to fourth, with an average speed of 1.84 Mbps, up from 1.51 Mbps last month and nearly double its speed of 0.96 Mbps in November.
