Satellite ‘gong’ for Eutelsat’s De Rosen

February 11, 2016

Michel de Rosen’s time as CEO at Eutelsat comes to an end next month, but not before he receives the ‘Satellite Executive of the Year’ award at the upcoming Satellite 2016 event in Washington.

De Rosen has been in post since 2009 and by any measure has helped build Eutelsat into a global player, helped by the operator’s acquisition of the SatMex group of satellites two years ago.

This week Eutelsat has again impressed the market by initiating a partnership deal with ViaSat which could lead to 100 Mb/s satellite-delivered broadband speeds over Europe.

March sees De Rosen retire from his CEO position and take the helm as non-executive Chairman.  He is being succeeded by former Canal Plus Group executive Rodolphe Belmer.
