Unidad Editorial, owner of the newspaper El Mundo and DTT company Veo TV, has put its two nationwide Spanish DTT channels on sale for €70 million.

Spanish media group Secuoya and the US company Discovery Networks are reportedly holding talks to acquire the DTT licences. Group Secuoya, which recently was granted with a DTT licence, has reportedly submitted a bid of up €61 million and is one of the most likely candidate to buy them.

Discovery Networks is also interested in acquiring one or two licences or even renting them. Renting out is a possibility, but the main shareholder in Unidad Editorial, the Italian company RCS, prefers to sell to cut costs of up to €15 million over the next two years.
