Telecom Italia/TIM has 500,000 active customers for its TIM Vision VoD service, with over 25 million views. According to the head of multimedia entertainment at TIM, Daniela Biscarini, the non-linear TV service has seen a 130 per cent growth over the past year. Currently, an estimated 1 million Italians subscribe to VoD services.

Telecom Italia/TIM has announced the launch of a new Android-based set-top box this summer, featuring 4K, DTT, Wi-Fi and Googlecast, while a new video interface will be implemented from April.

The new digital box will enable viewing of both TIM Vision content as well as of platforms with which TIM has signed partnership agreements. Other novelties include a new TV series per month (such as “The Royals 2”, “Vikings 4”, “American Crime” and “Humans”) and an increased offer of content for kids.

For a monthly subscription of €5, TIM Vision offers 8,000 titles, including in HD, without advertising and no data consumption when on TIM’s mobile network.
