Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development has launched a bidding process for the selection of a DTT network operator for the Vatican City State (Holy See).

The selected network operator, which must already own the rights of use for DTT frequencies, will make available to the State of Vatican, a transmission capacity of 4 Mbps on a national TV multiplex until 2032.

The multiplex in question must cover at least 70 per cent of the population and the capacity must be available from September 1st 2016.

The maximum value of the contract amounts to €2.72 million per year.

Requests for participation must be submitted exclusively in person to the Ministry of Economic Development in Rome, no later than May 5th.

The bidding process is in line with the commitments made between Italy and the Holy See in the field of TV and radio broadcasting based on the bilateral Agreement signed in June 2010.
