Milestone launches for AMC in Slovakia

March 31, 2016

Just in time for the long-awaited world premiere of Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 in Slovakia, AMC Networks International – Central Europe (AMCNI CE) reached two milestone deals for AMC’s distribution. As of April 1 2016, Slovakia’s two major market players DIGI Slovakia and Slovak Telekom both add AMC to their lineup. Under these new agreements, AMC now  becomes part of the lineup of all key operators with significantly higher reach in this territory.

AMC will launch for the first time for subscribers of DIGI Slovakia. At the same time, Slovak Telekom further widens the channels’s reach by adding AMC to the BASIC satellite package MAGIO TV M. This deal complements existing distribution via the Magio IPTV platform.

Commenting on this development, AMCNI CE Regional Sales Director, Balazs Hajos said: „We are delighted that the subscribers of both DIGI Slovakia and Slovak Telekom will be able to watch AMC’s original programming, including the upcoming world premiere of the new season of Fear the Walking Dead. These new launches in Slovakia highlight the growing demand for AMC  in the region.  We will continue our mission to bring top quality original programming and global hit series fully dubbed to our viewers in Slovakia.

The first of the upcoming AMC original series is Season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead, which debuts on AMC on April 11th, simultaneously to the US premiere.

Executive produced by showrunner Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert, “Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris and Colman Domingo as Strand. Season one ended with Madison, Travis and their extended family taking temporary shelter in Strand’s gated estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean. As civil unrest continues to grow and the dead take over Los Angeles, Strand prepares to escape to “Abigail,” his large yacht moored offshore.
