US prefers ad-supported online services to paid

Americans assigned a value of nearly $1200 per year (€1053) to the array of free, ad-supported services and content currently available to them on computers and mobile devices, according to a groundbreaking survey conducted by Zogby Analytics. More than 85 per cent of respondents said they preferred an ad-supported Internet model instead of paying for online content, and three-quarters said they would reduce their online activities “a great deal” if they had to pay for those services and content.
