ALi and Irdeto join forces

ALi Corporation, a set-top-box chipset provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with Irdeto, a specialist in digital platform security, achieving certification to integrate Irdeto’s powerful security solutions on its latest generation chipset offerings.

By joining forces, ALi and Irdeto will provide pay-TV operators and content owners flexible, renewable and scalable security solutions to stay ahead of evolving security threats. Irdeto offers a suite of media protection solutions to secure content distributed over broadcast, IPTV and OTT networks. The collaboration between ALi and Irdeto ranges from integration of Irdeto’s media access and management solutions including card based and cardless Conditional Access solutions, DRM, home networking security to consumer STBs, all enabled on ALi SoC.

This agreement will support chipset certifications to address different market requirements, including hybrid deployments and HEVC enablement to meet the needs of pay TV operators to maximise bandwidth capacity, thus enabling cost savings and increasing profitability. Collaboration efforts are ongoing and will extend to future developments on both companies’ roadmaps.
