End-to-end video entertainment provider and TelcoTV specialist Netgem is collaborating with revenue security and enhancement specialist Verimatrix to launch a new TV platform in the so-called DACH (German, Austrian and Swiss) Region.

The solution is designed to offer the German speaking TV market a leading multiscreen OTT broadcast service. Netgem recently helped launching a similar service with Post Luxembourg. (Bamboo TV as part of the Bamboo package).

This new relationship enables Netgem and Verimatrix to deliver an integrated digital rights management (DRM) solution for live OTT services, which will offer a superior viewing experience for premium end-users.

The TV proposition will provide German, Swiss and Austrian telecoms operators with a suite of IPTV and OTT broadcast solutions that enable a true multiscreen experience. Customers using this service will be able to enjoy broadcast and OTT content on TVs and across a range of devices, both inside and away from the home. The service will also include the ability to restart and catch up on programs using the start over and replay functions, through network PVR (nPVR) functionality.

By combining Netgem’s multiscreen delivery solutions and content partnerships with Verimatrix’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for Internet TV, this new offering will enable telecoms operators in German speaking regions to leverage compelling content delivery whilst securing and growing their revenue streams.

“A modern TV user experience hast to match both the traditional lean-back behaviour as well as the on-demand consumption needs of the new millennial generation of customers,” said Joseph Haddad, Founder and CEO of Netgem. “Verimatrix’s outstanding technology is helping us to secure all regulatory and security related requirements of broadcasters and content providers in a very dynamic and innovative TV market environment.”

Thanks to the modular nature of the proposition, telecoms operators that take up the solution will be able to build a unique and scalable service that will deliver the best results for each situation and business model. The new service offering will incorporate a wide range of television and film content provided through a range of partnerships secured by Netgem, including on demand content from Magine TV and premium VoD from Wuaki.tv.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Netgem on a fresh and innovative approach to enable consumers access to their desired content at any time and any location. It is important to provide a frictionless, secure experience across all devices,” stressed Steve Oetegenn, President of Verimatrix.
