Game Of Thrones collapses HBO Now
June 20, 2016
HBO Now, the premium network’s stand-alone OTT service, suffered a temporary outage in the US on June 19th as subscribers swarmed the system to stream the latest episode from season six of Game Of Thrones.
The HBO Now Twitter feed acknowledged the issue about 45 minutes after the premiere of episode nine from the current season citing “technical difficulties”.
Some 30 minutes later, HBO tweeted than any issues had been rectified, but many users continued to report problems. The service, which costs $14.99 to subscribe to, is said to have had over 15,000 issues reported in total.
