From David Del Valle in Madrid

The Spanish La Liga will use the latest TV technology in the 2016/2017 season which kicks off at the end of August.

Mediapro, which owns the Liga rights, will deploy seven drone cameras to be gradually extended into all stadiums. In addition, Mediapro will use 360˚ technology in Real Madrid and Barcelona’s stadiums and will broadcast at least one match live in Ultra HD.

Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, has also demanded the Spanish football clubs cooperate with La Liga to improve the TV transmissions.

“We have requested that football clubs remodel stadiums so we can improve broadcasting quality. Light, TV facilities and even the pitch will be better, so viewers get the best audiovisual product,” he said.
