SureSoft’s digital STB middleware now available on HiSilicon’s STB chipsets

SureSoft Systems, an Independent Software Design House (IDH) and pioneer in providing turn-key Software Solutions for Digital Consumer Products, has migrated successfully its proprietary Digital Middlewares, eGOS (embedded Graphics Operating System) and eWEB (eGOS based HTML5 Framework) to HiSilicon’s STB chipset families from SD zapper to UHD HEVC STBs.

The Linux OS based offering from SureSoft has numerous optional features addressing worldwide Retail and Operator market needs. The joint promotion planned together at IBC-2016 covers mostly the demonstration of interactive and connectivity features like HD MHEG5, HbbTV v2.0 ready and Adaptive Streaming protocols.

The Hisilicon’s Hi3716MV410 series provides the cost-effective HEVC zapper and pin-to-pin compatible to its SD/HD MP4 chipsets, whilst the Hi3798/3796 series provides solutions for entry-level through high-end FHD/UHD HEVC STBs. It also features an advanced security engine integrating a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), a Secure Video-Path (SVP), and forensic watermarking technologies. All security requirements are fulfilled to protect the system both in static and running modes.
