Spain: FTTH grows at expense of DSL, HFC

FTTH is growing very fast in Spain with 110,219 new lines in July, according to the latest figures from the CNMC.
By contrast, DSL lost 101,000 lines and HFC cable over 8,000 lines. Over the last 12 months, FTTH has gained 1.8 million lines while DSL lost 1.5 million.
In July, FTTH reached 4.1 million connections, of them 65.7 per cent correspond to Telefonica, with 2.7 million. Overall, the broadband market reached 13.38 million connections, up 1,661 lines with a penetration of 28.8 lines per 100 inhabitants.
