SMIT releases new generation CAM for CryptoGuard

SMIT, a provider of the conditional access module (CAM), in alliance with CryptoGuard, the renowned Swedish developer and vendor of the Conditional Access System (CAS), has announced the launch of the next generation of the CryptoGuard CAM. The technology will greatly enhance the reliability of the Pay-TV security solution, as well as enrich the CAM features. SMIT has cooperated with CryptoGuard for many years, and has developed a full series of CryptoGuard CAMs. After the upgrades, all SMIT CryptoGuard Consumer CI and CI+ CAMs and Professional CAMs will be able to fulfill the latest industry standard(s).

With the new SMiT platform which has more powerful CPU and enhanced security design, the new SMiT Cryptoguard CAMs has higher performance, security and reliability. We also improved the SW architecture which gives better experience to the end user, i.e. shorter zapping time, background OTA upgrade etc.; The professional CAM that can now support up to 16 channels simultaneously or even more, which can meet various requirements from different customers. Furthermore, much more new features can be introduced to the new CAMs, such as Operator Profile, LOGO Displaying, Fingerprint and HbbTV.
