Argentina’s La Nacion newspaper is getting into the pay-TV business. It has launched LN+, available on two major pay-TV systems (Cablevision and DirecTV Latin America).

“Today we take an important step in our evolution as a communication company by launching our first pay TV channel to expand the reach of our journalism and quality content”, said Guillermo Rivaben, CEO of La Nacion, during the official Oct 3 presentation of the channel.

La Nacion states that LN+ was born with a digital vision, and will go the opposite way that other TV channels, and adding that it will not be a pay TV channel having an app, but a massive web service that will have a TV signal.

The channel will broadcast from the offices of the newspaper and most programmes will be aired live. The programming will also be available on demand and simultaneously on the website of La Nacion which is among the 10 most visited sites of the country.
