Music channel 4Music has launched on Freesat – the UK’s subscription-free satellite TV service. The launch takes place ahead of the UK premiere of the 59th Grammy Awards which will broadcast on 4Music on February 13th.

4Music joins Freesat’s other music channels, including Kiss and Magic, and replaces The Box on channel 509.

The arrival on Freesat of 4Music brings magazine and music programmes such as Trending Live! and UK Hotlist together with hit reality TV shows such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians and #RichKids of Beverly Hills. 4Music also boasts top comedy, including 8 out of 10 Cats and Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. 4Music is part of The Box Plus Network.

Alistair Thom, Managing Director of Freesat, said: “Freesat is all about bringing our viewers the shows they love – and 4Music is bursting with brilliant content. Freesat brings over 200 channels for free as well as a range of on demand services, saving viewers money without compromising on entertainment.”

Matt Rennie, Managing Director at The Box Plus Network, said: “We’re pretty excited to bring our leading youth channel 4Music into Freesat homes, offering up great music, comedy, reality and entertainment shows. It’s particularly good timing just days before our UK premiere of The Grammys”.
