The number of 4K broadcasts on DirecTV continues to grow. A couple of weeks ago, NBC Sports started broadcasting 4K football matches from England’s Premier League. NBC Sports will continue to cover English football for the rest of this season in Ultra-HD with additional coverage of La Liga and other key sporting fixtures.

Pay-TV broadcaster DirecTV will this weekend start showing the BBC’s Planet Earth II (February 18th on Channel 104) in UHD, as well as a full portfolio of sports, including NBA games, College Basketball and Golf.

Indeed, Fox Sports says its California-Stanford basketball games will be the first of its telecasts to be showcased in 4K, and will be followed by regular 4K transmissions. DirecTV is promising NASCAR races, and Major League Baseball.
